Sharon began writing poetry at a very young age and has since started writing Young Adult and New Age Fiction. Sharon’s publication history includes poems published in the Literary Journal Tetrahedra in 2012 & 2103, A Flood of Contentment, and a poem in The Best of Poems and Poets of 2002. In 2013, Sharon won first place in the TAFCE Western Region Creative Writing Program for her poem The Buffalo. Sharon also writes the quarterly newsletter for her local library and coordinates the annual Houston County Creative Writing Contest for Youth through the Friends of the Houston County Library. Sharon also coordinates the Pot of Gold Creative Writing Contest for Adults who reside in Houston County or surrounding counties through the Friends of the Houston County Library.
Sharon's father taught her how to cook, love culture and language, and he also encouraged her to believe in herself and follow her dreams. As a writer, Sharon's mother encouraged her to make up stories on the fly and to be creative with the stories. Sharon's parents also encouraged her love of reading. Sharon's parents always had a book or magazine with them or in their hands when she was growing up, no matter if it was just to go to the doctor, the neighbor's house or on vacation. Sharon's father would actually carry a paperback in his lunchbox to work everyday. He would read during his lunch break.
