To be a good writer you have to be an avid reader. As a writer I sometimes get so busy with my writing that I fall behind in my reading. When I read I have to know what happens. I am not a person that can read two different books at the same time and bounce between the two, because in my mind the characters intertwine when in reality they are not connected in any form. Closure in a story is key for me. I find that when I am writing that I need that same sense of closure. I have recently finished a short story and am now reading a novella. I will post my thoughts on the novella hopefully later this week.

I am looking for a really good book to read. I want something that will keep me completely interested. I would love to hear about anything that you are reading.
Today was the Pow Wow in Hopkinsville, KY. I got to see one of my favorite Native American artist, Paul DeLuna. His artwork is very specific to Native American Heritage. I also got to meet a couple of amazing artists from Cherokee, NC. The mother and son paint on feathers, the son, Juan, paints amazing tributes to the military and veterans on the feathers that he paints. His mother, Lola, paints beautiful Native American women on the feathers. They also have canvas pieces and beadwork, however the feathers are absolutely amazing. They are breathtaking pieces of artwork. Please check out the artists' websites.
