June 6 & 7th was the annual Clarksville Writers Conference. I am always amazed with all the talented people that attend the conference each year and this year was no different. There were wonderful presenters from all over the southern region. Three presenters really stood out: Beth Ann Fennelly, Tom Franklin, and Adam Ross. Beth Ann has a book of poems recently released title Unmentionables. I could not put down this book. Tom Franklin has several books out, he is the co-editor of the anthology Grit Lit: A Rough South Reader and is joined by several contributing writers. Adam Ross is the author of Mr. Peanut. When these three individuals presented when you walked out of their session you wanted to go find a corner and start writing like crazy. Meeting wonderful like minded people is also a perk to attending the conference. Networking is what always makes a conference great. I recommend this conference to anyone; regardless if you have an idea, a partial manuscript, have a completed manuscript or an avid reader. There is something
